Child Dedications

We believe that dedicating a child to God is more than just a ritual. The dedication of a child is a public commitment by the parents to do their very best to raise their child to be a follower of Jesus Christ and it is an opportunity for our pastor to pronounce a blessing on the child. The scripture basis we use for the ceremony is found in 1 Samuel 1:27–28 NLT.

What is a child dedication? 

The dedication of a child is a public commitment by the child’s parents to do their very best to raise their child in a Godly home to be a follower of Jesus Christ and it is an opportunity for our pastor to pronounce a blessing on the child.

How is it different than a christening or baptism?

A christening or baptism is typically a sign of admission to a particular faith or church.   A dedication is a commitment by the parents to lead the child to receive Jesus as their Savior when they have the understanding to do so and to raise them in a Godly home.

At what age can I dedicate my child?

We recommend dedicating your child as early as possible but if you never dedicated the child before and desire to do so, you can do it when they are older.

What are the requirements to have a child dedicated?
  1. At least one parent must be a born again believer.
  2. At least one parent must be a member of IFC.
  3. Parents must be in agreement that they want to raise their child in a Godly home.
When are Dedications held?

Child dedications are held in April & October.
